Frequently Asked Questions

What does “read my rights” mean?

This means the Police telling you what your rights (discussed above) are. When the Police read your rights to you they must explain them so you understand them. If you are not sure what your rights are, when the Police are telling you about them, you can ask them questions so that you do understand what your rights are. If in doubt, make sure you exercise your right to speak to a lawyer who will make sure you do understand your rights.
